Useful Surfing

May 2003

Sorry to be running late this month, time just gets away from so fast these days, especially now that warmer weather has arrived. There's just so much to do!!

How useful is your computer to you? Do you really use it as a tool, especially the internet? There is so much information available on the net, well, I could just spend years reading it all! And the best part is that it's right there, whenever you want to read it, you don't have to wait until the library is open or even leave your home. The other night I was cleaning up some of my bookmarks, and here are some interesting things I came across.

Did you know that hydrogen peroxide is a great mouthwash? It kills bacteria and helps reduce the risk of gingivitis. It's also great for those minor toothaches when you just can't get to the dentist. You can also use it in the shower, the bath, on wounds, in the ears, on your face, in the kitchen, the laundry and garden! Find out here:

You know that you can always email me with your computer questions, but did you know that there are also other web sites around the are devoted to offering free technical support? Good to keep in mind for the next time you stump me with a tough question!

You've probably seen the ads that claim they can find assets you forgot you ever had. Well if you've moved around a bit in your lifetime, there is a chance that something got forgot along the way. But you don't need to pay someone to help you find it. Just go to:

And the government always has free stuff to give away. No, not millions in free grants, just info:

Speaking of the government giving things away... You may know that your postal address information is not a matter of public record - via the US Post Office. But did you know that the info you put on a Change of Address Form IS? Find out more about your privacy and government records here:

For those of you living in Montana, or with family here, you might want to check out the Sexual and Violent Offender Registry, to see if your neighbor is on the list:
