Viruses and Virus MythsSeptember 2002 Here's a neat, and free, way to double-check that you are not sending a virus out when you send email. Just send a blank email to this address: Shortly afterward you will get a confirmation email, followed by an email that will tell you if any viruses were found in your email. Of course, this isn't a guarantee that there are no viruses on your computer, it simply checks to see if you are spreading them by email. The recent outbreak of viruses in our area has slowed down some, though there are still a few floating around. Have you checked your anti-virus software this week to make sure it is up-to-date? For that matter, is it even activated?? It won't do you any good if it's disabled! And if you have been infected by a virus recently, did you take the time to notify everyone in your addressbook? This is just a common courtesy, to give them fair warning to have their system checked out. No need to feel guilty, as it can happen to the best of us.
