Identity TheftOctober 2003 Shew, finally got a few minutes to write again! Been very busy around here since the blaster virus broke out back in August, and doesn't look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. Word of warning - you may have already received emails that appear to be from microsoft.com. They aren't, they are virus-laden "spoof" emails, where they pretend to be a reputable company so you will open their mail. There's also one going around now that appears to be from ebay.com support, asking you to update your info. It's not the real thing though, it's another spoof, and they ask for very personal info like your social security number and your ATM PIN number! So let's all be super-over-cautious, and question every email that you get of this nature. Microsoft does NOT send out emails telling you about updates, and NO reputable company is going to ask you for sensitive information of this nature. Unless you want to go through the torture of having your identity stolen, please, please just delete these messages.
