A Web Site Primer

To find out if you really are ready to build a presence on the Internet, ask yourself these questions...

• Does your company offer products that can be shipped nationwide?
• Does your company offer services that can be provided nationwide?
• Is your company located in a large metropolitan area?
• Can your company offer specialized knowledge of interest to a large group of people?
• Is your company in a position to handle increased growth?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then you are ready for an Internet presence! The next step is to learn about the web. Become familiar with some of the terms that are used so you won't be lost when consulting with your designer. Review the variety of options available to make your site dynamic and exciting. Learn to understand the way search engines rank your site and how you can affect the ranking. Then create an outline of your site for your designer so you are both seeing the same picture.
