North Fork protesters need gasoline, oil, too

To the editor:

I am writing in regard to the North Fork drilling action.

I cannot agree with the North Fork's so-called environmental organization. They seem to be trying to get rid of an industry that could be a big help to the north Flathead, and to them, too.

I'll bet my bottom dollar that there isn't any one of their group that doesn't own at least one gasoline-burning vehicle, or maybe two.

Why should we be importing petroleum products when it is very possible that there is petroleum just below our, and the North Forkers', feet?

From what I gather this project is being done according to all the rules of drilling, and it will give many people employment now and in the future.

I also say: let Tom Ladenburg have a trial at being a success; after all, he is within the law, he's staying inside of his own fences.
